Overview
About Lineage Logistics
Lineage Logistics is a global leader in cold storage and supply chain logistics. With a mission to feed the world safely and efficiently, they operate more than 400 facilities in 20 countries, with over 26K employees. Their Sunnyvale, California location embodies their commitment to people-first culture, particularly through recognition and appreciation initiatives that they are spreading throughout the company.
The Challenge
Bringing Recognition to a Deskless Workforce
At Lineage, most employees don’t sit behind desks. They work in warehouses, on loading docks, and in transit. Traditional recognition programs—often email-based or platform-dependent—just wouldn’t cut it. The team needed a solution that would bridge the digital divide and connect every worker to the culture of appreciation.
The Solution
Offline Innovation & Leadership Engagement
Lineage Logistics rolled out Awardco in Sunnyvale first, where they tested a hands-on, leadership-led approach:
- A raffle-based login challenge to drive initial participation
- Lunch-and-learns and printed walkthroughs for deskless employees
- One-on-one coaching to help team members get started
- Integrated onboarding to embed recognition into every new hire’s experience
The success at Sunnyvale became the testing grounds—and now the program is spreading globally. The program leads at HQ even commented, ‘“we’re seeing ‘Sunnyvales’ pop up all over the company.”
“We launched the pilot to a group within the U.S. From there, we expanded all the way across the U.S., and then into Canada, and now Australia. We’re seeing more and more engagement in places we didn’t expect. People are using the platform in ways that feel natural to them—and that’s the win.”

The Results
- Culture of Inclusion: Every employee across the globe is now a part of the recognition culture at Lineage Logistics. With over 26,000 employees and 85% working offline, the platform had to work anywhere. The company has seen 100% login rates at launch, and consistent growth across additional teams and sites.
- Retention Transformation: Attrition dropped significantly among recognized employees. Those recognized once within their first 3 months had about a 20% lower attrition rate at the 12–15 month mark, and those recognized twice or more saw a 30% reduction.
- Culture, Elevated: Year-over-year, recognitions increased by 133%, and the number of unique individuals being recognized rose by 81%—evidence that recognition is reaching more people and resonating deeply.
